Livestock Buyer's Dinner and Auction
A. OVERALL RULES AND APPROPRIATE CONDUCT
- All Boone County Junior Fair Exhibitors must be enrolled and a member in good standing in: a 4-H Livestock Project or an FFA SAE program in Boone County.
- (New Rule for 2008) Show Me Quality Assurance Certification will be required for showing any species of livestock at the 2008 Boone County Fair.
- Each exhibit shall be owned by the exhibitor and shall represent work accomplished with the 4-H or FFA project during the current year.
- Believing it is in the best interest of all junior exhibitors to maintain a reputation of integrity and to present a wholesome and progressive image, the Boone County Fair sets forth the following regulation: 4-H and FFA members are expected to conduct themselves according to the best traditions of their respective organizations. Inappropriate conduct (such as alcohol and substance abuse, stealing, vandalism, and indiscreet behavior) will NOT be tolerated: all livestock premiums will be forfeited and the exhibitor will be disqualified from the Livestock Auction and/or the sale nullified.
- Exhibitors must be at the Show and at the Livestock Sale, except for a medical emergency in the family or a conflicting 4-H or FFA event as permitted by the Livestock Auction Committee.
- The Missouri State Fair On-Line Premium Guide will be the guidelines used by the Livestock Superintendents when making decisions regarding rules that are vague or not addressed in the Boone County Fair Book.
- The appropriate Boone County Fair Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents will interpret rules and make final decisions concerning the Boone County Fair Livestock Shows.
- Stall assignments will be posted in the barns and in the Livestock Office. It is very important to check stall assignments prior to unloading.
- Parents are responsible for the actions of their children.
B. ENTRIES
- All exhibitors shall complete a livestock entry form listing all animals. Entry fees are listed on the livestock entry form for each animal division. All Exhibitors except Horse and Dog exhibitors must purchase an exhibitor pass.
- Entries will be considered late if all payments and forms are not received in the Boone County Extension office by 4:30 pm on Tuesday, June 17, 2008. Entries that are not completely filled out or do not include the correct fee payment will NOT be accepted. Make checks payable to: “Senior 4-H Council”.
- Pre-entry or weigh-in forms turned in prior to the fair do NOT substitute for the required Livestock Entry Form due on Tuesday, June 17, 2008.
- All Livestock Entry Forms must be SIGNED by the FFA Advisor or 4-H Club Leader (as appropriate) to verify that the member is in good standing.
- Exhibitors must declare at weigh-in or pre-entry if they will be showing the species in 4-H or FFA. An exhibitor may show one species in 4-H and another species in FFA, but is NOT allowed to show multiple animals of one species in both 4-H and FFA.
- Animal identification is required on the Livestock Entry Form. Substitutions must be approved by the appropriate show superintendents.
C. HOME RAISED CLASSES
- HOME RAISED FOR ALL BOONE COUNTY LIVESTOCK PROJECTS IS DEFINED AS: any animal whose dam is owned by the exhibitor or a member of the immediate family (father, mother, brother, sister, or legal guardian only), at the time of birth, and is born on the local property that is owned or managed by the immediate family of the exhibitor. The animal must be cared for from birth to exhibition by the exhibitor on the local property. The dam does not have to be owned by the exhibitor/family at the time of breeding. (Adopted 1/18/06 by the Boone Co. Livestock Committee.)
- Exhibitors may only have one animal in the home raised class per species.
D. ANIMAL HEALTH REGULATIONS
- All Junior livestock exhibitors must abide by current health regulations of the Missouri Department of Agriculture. At the time of printing the following is the current set of guidelines for Missouri Animal Health Requirements for Exhibition.
- Cattle: in Missouri moving for exhibition only in Missouri, No certificate of veterinary inspection is required.
- Swine: in Missouri moving for exhibition only in Missouri, No certificate of veterinary inspection is required.
- Sheep: In accordance with the 2007 Missouri Department of Agriculture and Missouri State Fair health guidelines, all sheep (including whethers) must have a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (health certificate) to be eligible to show. This health certificate must have been written within 30 days of exhibition. All sheep must also be identified either by ear tag, electronic implant, or tattoo.
- Goats: In accordance with the 2007 Missouri Department of Agriculture and Missouri State Fair health guidelines, all goats (including whethers) must have a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (health certificate) to be eligible to show. This health certificate must have been written within 30 days of exhibition. All goats must also be identified either by ear tag, electronic implant, or tattoo.
- Poultry: Must have no signs of contagious or infectious disease. Poultry must have a VS Form 9-2 (or similar certificate) showing a negative Pullorum-Typhoid test within the past 90 days to exhibition, or originate from a flock approved by the NPIP. Waterfowl are exempt from this testing requirement. A representative from the Missouri Department of Agriculture shall have access to this event and may inspect or test poultry as considered necessary.
E. JUNIOR LIVESTOCK AUCTION
- All Exhibitors selling livestock in the Livestock Auction are required to attend the sale meeting on Saturday, July 26, 2008 @ 11:00 am.
- Exhibitors may only sell two animals (one per specie) in the Livestock Auction. If an Exhibitor has more than two animals that have been awarded Grand and/or Reserve Champion Overall, the Exhibitor will be allowed to sell EACH animal that has been awarded Grand and/or Reserve Champion Overall.
- Exhibitors must declare their intended sale animal(s) at the Fair Weigh-in in July.
- All animals in the Livestock Auction must have received a Blue or Red ribbon in the on foot show.
- Animals offered for sale in the Livestock Auction must meet the following minimum weight requirements: a. Steers –1,000 pounds b. Swine –230 pounds c. Lambs – 100 pounds d. Meat Goats – 75 pounds
- The top two meat rabbits will be allowed to sell in the Junior Livestock Auction Sale.
- The top two meat chickens (broilers) will be allowed to sell in the Junior Livestock Auction Sale.
- Once an animal has been offered for sale or is sold, it will not be allowed to be shown at the Missouri State Fair. An exception will be made only if a premium sale is held locally, or if a Missouri State Fair Advance Sales Agreement is signed by all parties, exhibitor and buyer(s). Missouri State Fair Advance Sales Agreements are the responsibility of each Exhibitor.
- Livestock Auction Committee will determine final sale order of livestock.
- Livestock offered for sale in the Livestock Auction will NOT be released until the conclusion of the entire sale on Friday evening.
- (New Rule for 2008) Settlement will be made 30 days following the Boone County Fair Livestock Auction pending payment by the buyer.
- (New Rule for 2008) All sales are final at price offered. Failure to comply will result in loss of opportunity to participate in any future auctions with any species at the Boone County Fair.
F. SHOWMANSHIP CLASSES
Showmanship is for Exhibitors representing Boone County only. The following Exhibitor ages (as of Jan. 1, 2008) will be used to determine placement in all Boone County Fair Showmanship competitions:

G. HERDSMANSHIP AWARDS
Herdsmanship Awards will be given in the Goat, Swine, Sheep, and Steer barns to the top three 4-H Clubs and/or FFA Chapters with the highest scores based on the following:
- Cleanliness of alleys and stall: Bedding must be adequate, dry, clean, and in place. Cattle should be securely tied with 18-20 inches lead. Feed pans should be in front of the animals only at feeding time. Manure must be removed and deposited in a proper place. Alleys should be swept clean and free of dust and straw.
- Arrangement of Exhibit: Hay and straw arranged neat and orderly. Feed pans and miscellaneous gear arranged in an orderly and uniform manner.
- Appearance of livestock: Animals cleaned and brushed.
- Stall Cards: Uniform, readable from alley, clean, and complete.
- Exhibit Attendants: Courtesy toward fellow Exhibitors and others in the barn, at the wash rack, show ring, etc. At least one attendant will be present between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Promptness on entering the show ring.
Black Walnut Baking Contest
Sponsored by Hammons Products Company, Stockton, Missouri
- 1) All current Boone County 4-H members are eligible to enter this special contest.
- 2) Only one entry per member in each class.
- 3) Black Walnut Contest entries are not eligible for the 4-H Youth Arts contest or Boone County Fair premiums.
- 4) Entries will be accepted during the regular Youth Arts check-in beginning 5:30 pm on Thursday, July 17, 2008.
- 5) Classes should be listed on the Exhibitor Tag as follows:
Class # CWC: American Black Walnut Cake (Exhibitor’s choice to exhibit whole or half cake.) - Class # CWM: American Black Walnut Muffins (5 muffins - may be any variety such as bran, blueberry, apple, etc. so long as they contain American Black Walnuts).
6) Each recipe must use at least ¼ cup American Black Walnuts.- 7) Each exhibit must be accompanied by the recipe typed on 8 ½” x 11” paper. All recipes become the property of Hammons Products Company and Boone County 4-H.
- 8) The exhibitor, by entering, allows Hammons Products Company and/or Boone County 4-H to use the recipe for future publications and promotions.
- 9) All decisions of the judge(s) are final.
- 10) In each class, Hammons Products Company will award prize money as follows:
- a. First Place: $20
- b. Second Place: $10
Bucket Calf Show
The 4-H Bucket Calf Show begins at approximately 1 pm on Sunday, July 20, 2008.
- Exhibitors must be enrolled in 4-H Project #135.
- Calf must be born after March 1 and be at least 90 days old when shown (State 4-H Rules).
- Calf must be owned and hand fed by project member.
- Calf may be any breed or sex (heifer, steer, or bull).
- Calf is not eligible to be shown in other classes.
- Calf should be broke to lead.
- Criteria for judging: 25% Showmanship 25% Condition, health and grooming of calf 50% Knowledge gained (judge will talk with exhibitor) breed, feeding practices, etc.
- Only one entry per exhibitor.
- All bucket calves will be stalled in a location determined by the Superintendent for safety.

Meat Goat Show Rules:
- All goats must be owned and under the care of the 4-H/FFA member who is a Boone County resident by May 15, 2008. All exhibitors must complete the required Show Me Quality Assurance (SMQA) training for their age in order to be eligible to show.
- Entries are limited to two goats per class per exhibitor. Exhibitors may enter one animal only in the Home-Raised category. Please see General Rules for details.
- No arrivals before 8:00 am. Animals must be in place by 10 am
- All dairy breeds will show together, registered or unregistered. Kinders used for dairy purposes have their own classes. Kinder wethers show in the Meat Goat show. No percentage Boers allowed. It is preferable that dairy goats be disbudded, dehorned or polled.
- The base date for computing the age of the animal is July 21, 2008.
- All animals must be properly collared and restrained. All goats must be identified with ear tag, tattoo, microchip or hanging tag on collar.
- No milk out required, but the judge will discriminate against distended udders.
- Herdsmanship will be judged daily, on a club basis. Meat goat and Dairy goat herdsmanship are combined.
- Animals must be free of contagious diseases, visible lesions, abscesses, or warts. Goats may be removed for health risks by the show superintendent.
- Showmanship classes will be held for all dairy goat exhibitors. Animals should be show clipped. It is recommended that dairy goat exhibitors wear nice jeans or pants with a shirt that has a collar or white pants and white shirt with a collar. Long skirts are also acceptable. Pee Wee Showmanship is a non-4-H sponsored activity (open to Clover Kids and others) for children ages 4-7 years old. Suitable animals will be provided for these children to use..
- No bucks allowed.

Pee Wee Fun Class This is a non-4-H sponsored activity (open to Clover Kids and others) for children ages 4-7 years old. Suitable animals will be provided for the children to use in this class.

Pee Wee Fun Class - This is a non-4-H sponsored activity (open to Clover Kids and others) for children ages 4-7 years old. Suitable goats will be provided for the children to use in this class. Participation ribbons and goody bags will be awarded.

Dog Show Rules:

Rules listed in the general rules section in addition to following rules will apply to the dog show.
-
Each entrant must be a member of good standing in a Boone County 4-H Dog Care Project or FFA SAE Dog Project. The dog must be trained by the exhibitor and only the exhibitor.
-
The exhibitor shall have been in possession for training purposes of the dog by April 1, 2008.
-
Ages for classes will be determined as the age of the entrant on January 1 of the current year.
-
All vaccinations against rabies and distemper must be up to date on the day of the show. Bordatella vaccinations are recommended, but not required. Any violators will be disqualified.
-
Health papers are required. The health certificate must show required tests, vaccinations, etc., and individual identification and description of animals. Health certificates are valid for thirty (30) days.
-
Unruly/abusive behavior by any dog or 4-H/ FFA member may result in suspension from show by show chairman.
-
Only one Obedience Class per dog.
-
Only one Junior Showmanship class per person.
-
A dog may be shown in Pre-novice I, one year; Pre-novice II, one year; Pre-novice III, one year; Novice class, two years; graduate novice, three years; and open and utility classes, no limit. Advancement in obedience classes is at the discretion of the project leader.

A dog may not compete in any class lower than the one in which it has received a title or recognition of accomplishment granted by any sanctioning body. This is irrespective to the level of accomplishment of the handler.

Bitches in season may be shown in Junior Showmanship and at the end of their obedience class, or ring schedule at the judges discretion.

Obedience classes will be judged according to AKC rules.

Only dogs exhibited are allowed at the show.

Pinch/Prong collars, electric collars (dummy or not) are not permitted at 4-H Dog shows, this will include body or head harnesses. Acceptable collars are: flat buckle, rolled leather, Martingales and chain. A 6 foot lead is required for showing the dog in obedience. No flexi leads or chain leashes are allowed. A leather lead is preferred but not required.

Showmanship Class Descriptions Junior showmanship will be judged as follows:
• Handling skills: Control of the dog, proper gaiting, proper stacking, accentuating the dog’s good points, minimizing the dog’s faults and presentation of the dog = 70%.
• Knowledge of dog and dog care: Disqualifying faults of your breed, basic anatomy of dog, etc. = 10%.
• Poise of Exhibitor: Appearance/attire of handler, attention to judge, knowledge of ring procedure = 10%.
• Grooming of dog: Proper grooming for breed, toenails clipped, proper lead, etc. = 10%.
Junior Showmanship classes:
Novice – 4-H/ FFA members who have not competed in Junior Showmanship
Open – 4-H/FFA members who have competed in Junior Showmanship
Horse Show
Sunday, July 20, 2008, 9:30 am
The following rules are set in addition to the 2008 Missouri State 4-H/FFA Horse Show Guidelines. These rules are to govern only the show sponsored by the Boone County 4-H/FFA Horse Show Committee. Rules governing the Fun Show Series, Regional and State events may be different and should be checked prior to the show.
- Unborn foals must be registered on the dam’s enrollment form.
- A youth who has enrolled only one horse may substitute an un-enrolled horse in the event of death of the horse with a written statement AND death certificate from a veterinarian.
- A youth who has enrolled only one horse may substitute an un-enrolled horse in the event of lameness, injury, or illness of the horse with a written statement from a veterinarian.
- Important: The Boone County Extension Center or Boone County Fair Horse Show Committee Chair must be notified within three 3 days of death, lameness, or injury of the horse.
- If the member has more than one horse in the Horsemanship Project and the main horse used in the project is injured, or in the event of death, one of the other enrolled horses must be used.
- All exhibitors must wear their number easily visible to the Judge. Numbers may be worn on the back or saddle pad. If numbers are on the saddle pad, two numbers must be worn.
- An Exhibitor/Horse may show only once in each class. Exhibitors may show in an age group OR in 56” and under, but not in both. (No crossovers.)
- Believing it is in the best interest of all junior exhibitors to maintain a reputation of integrity and to present a wholesome and progressive image, the Boone County Fair sets forth the following regulation: 4-H and FFA members are expected to conduct themselves according to the best traditions of their respective organizations. Inappropriate conduct (such as alcohol and substance abuse, stealing, vandalism, and indiscreet behavior) will NOT be tolerated. Any violation on the part of an exhibitor, his/her family, or representative will result in dismissal of the exhibitor from showing in any further classes as deemed by the 2007 Horse Committee, Judge and/or Fair Board.
- The use of tobacco by 4-H/FFA members is prohibited during and 4-H/FFA committee sponsored event. This includes preparation and/or set-up times. It will result in disqualification from showing in further classes.
- Exhibitors are required to wear appropriate boots in all classes. In performance classes a buttoned long sleeve shirt with tail tucked into rider’s pants or other appropriate show attire must be worn. In game classes a short sleeve shirt meeting the above requirement may be worn. (No exposed sport bras, halter tops, tube tops, tank tops, or spaghetti straps may be worn in any class.) Exceptions to this rule may be announced on the show date at the discretion of the show committee. Long pants or jeans are required in all classes. Clothing must be clean, workmanlike and neat. A hat (for performance classes) or ASTM-SEI Equestrian approved helmet (for speed and game events) must be on the exhibitor’s head when he/she enters the arena. All game classes will be with a saddle.
- Each 4-H Club / FFA Chapter must have an adult supervisor (parent, leader or advisor) on the grounds at all times.
- Horses are only to be ridden in designated areas.
- 4-H exhibitors must be between the ages of 8 through 18 as of January 1, 2007 and FFA members must meet the age rules for representing FFA.
- Rules for flag, pole and barrel classes will come from the Boone County Horsemanship Committee Rule Book.
- All decisions of the Judge are final.

Meat Goat Show Rules:
- Rules listed in the General Rules section in addition to following rules will apply to the Meat Goat Show.
- All market wethers must be owned and under the care of the Boone County 4-H/FFA member enrolled in the project by Friday, May 9, 2008.
- Market goats/breeding stock goats may be of any meat breed or crossbred, including kinder. Kinder wethers may be shown in the market class, but all kinder breeding stock will be shown in the Dairy Goat Show. See Dairy Goat Show Rules for kinder breeding stock classes.
- Bucks Allowed.
- Market class goats must attend a mandatory weigh-in and nose printing on Friday, May 9, at 5:30 pm. Males must be castrated prior to weigh-in. Wethers (castrated males only – no does) will be shown in market class.
- In accordance with Missouri Department of Agriculture and Missouri State Fair health guidelines, all goats (including wethers) must have a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (health certificate) to be eligible to show. This health certificate must have been written within 30 days of exhibition. All goats must also be identified either by ear tag, electronic implant, or tattoo.
- Goats in the market class must be born after July 30, 2007.
- Market goats must weigh a minimum of 75 pounds to be eligible to sell at the Junior Livestock Auction. No white ribbon animals will sell.
- All market goats must be ear tagged, tattooed, or wearing a hanging neck tag for identification.
- Slick shearing is required for market goats, prior to weigh in. No shearing required for the Friday, May 9 weigh-in.
- An exhibitor may show a total of two market goats. Only two entries per breeding stock classes.
- All goats will be checked before unloading. He/She will have the authority to have any animal deemed a health risk and removed from the fairgrounds. Goats may also be removed by the Meat Goat Chairperson, due to health risks.
- Herdsmanship will be daily by Club. Meat Goat and Dairy Goat Herdsmanship are combined.
- It is required that all exhibitors complete the necessary Show Me Quality Assurance training.

Dog Show Rules:
- Each entrant must be a member of good standing in a 4-H Dog Care Project or FFA SAE Dog Project.
- The dog must be trained by the exhibitor and only the exhibitor.
- The exhibitor shall have been in possession for training purposes of the dog by April 1, 2008.
- Ages for classes will be determined as the age of the entrant on January 1 of the current year.
- All vaccinations against rabies and distemper must be up to date on the day of the show. Bordatella vaccinations are recommended, but not required. Any violators will be disqualified.
- Health papers are required. The health certificate must show required tests, vaccinations, etc., and individual identification and description of animals. Health certificates are valid for thirty (30) days.
- Unruly/abusive behavior by any dog or 4-H/ FFA member may result in suspension from show by show chairman.
- Only one Obedience Class per dog (classes D1-D14).
- Only one Junior Showmanship class per person.
- A dog may not compete in any class lower than the one in which it has received a title or recognition of accomplishment granted by any sanctioning body. This is irrespective to the level of accomplishment of the handler.
- Bitches in season may be shown in Junior Showmanship and at the end of their obedience class, or ring schedule at the judge’s discretion.
- Obedience classes will be judged according to AKC rules.
- Only dogs exhibited are allowed at the show.
- Pinch/Prong collars, electric collars (dummy or not) are not permitted at 4-H Dog shows, this will include body or head harnesses. Acceptable collars are: flat buckle, rolled leather, Martingales and chain. A 6 foot lead is required for showing the dog in obedience. No flexi leads or chain leashes are allowed. A leather lead is preferred but not required.

• Knowledge of dog and dog care: Disqualifying faults of your breed, basic anatomy of dog, etc. = 10%.
• Poise of Exhibitor: Appearance/attire of handler, attention to judge, knowledge of ring procedure = 10%.
• Grooming of dog: Proper grooming for breed, toenails clipped, proper lead, etc. = 10%.

- All rabbits and poultry must be under the daily care and supervision of the project member from April 13, 2008 to show day. Meat pens of poultry must be under the care and supervision of the project member from June 15, 2008 to show day.
- Rabbits used for the Rabbit Showmanship classes must be under the care and supervision of the project member from April 13, 2008 to show day, and be no younger than 6 months at the time of the show.
- All exhibitors must be members in good standing of a 4-H/FFA Rabbit or Poultry project to be shown and entries must be turned in by June 15, 2008 to the Extension Office.
- All animals must be entered, exhibited, handled and shown by the project member.
- Exhibitors must provide their own water and food dishes.
- Exhibitors must provide adequate wire cages for their rabbits and/or poultry three day stay.
- All exhibited animals must be free of any visible signs of infection, contagious disease or parasites. Exhibitors may be asked to remove any project animal not in good health. Dismissal will be at the discretion of the Small Animal Superintendent or Judge.
- Due to possible omissions or mistakes in printing of the rules, the a. Small Animal Committee reserves the right to final interpretation of the rules and will make any final decision concerning the Small Animal Poultry or Rabbit Shows.
- Each exhibitor is required to sign up for a time to watch the small animal tent during their stay.
- All birds will have to pass the blood test on Tuesday, July 22 at the 6 pm – 8 pm check-in.

- All exhibitors must complete the required Show Me Quality Assurance (SMQA) training for their age in order to be eligible to show.
- All breeding sheep must be owned and under the care of the member enrolled in the project by Friday, June 17, 2007. Market lamb ownership by Friday, May 9, 2008.
- Within each breed, each exhibitor is limited to two entries in single classes.
- All breeding sheep must be registered in their respective association with the exception of grade ewe classes (a grade sheep is one ineligible for registration). Each registration paper must show the exhibitors name as owner. Registration papers will be checked.
- Market lambs may be of any breed or crossbred. Wethered lambs or ewe lambs may be shown. Rams are not allowed. (Lambs shown in the market lamb classes can not show in any other classes). EXAMPLE: Ewe lamb shown in market lamb class cannot show in grade ewe lamb class. Grade ewe lamb shown in grade ewe lamb class cannot show in market lamb class.
- In accordance with the Missouri Department of Agriculture and Missouri State Fair health guidelines, all sheep and goats (including wethers) must have a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (health certificate) to be eligible to show. This health certificate must have been written within 30 days of exhibition. All sheep must also be identified either by ear tag, electronic implant, or tattoo.
- Market lambs will be shown in classes as black face, white face, speckled face and by weight.
- All Boone County market lambs are required to be weighed at the County Weigh-In held Friday, May 9 at the Boone County Fairgrounds between 5:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. All wether lambs must be banded prior to weigh-in.
- All market lambs must be scrapie tagged for identification. Slick shearing is required. An exhibitor may show a total of two market lambs. All market lamb exhibitors must exhibit their lamb without assistance.
- Each exhibitor may sell only one blue ribbon or red ribbon market lamb. Exception: If an exhibitor has both Champion and Reserve Champion, they will be expected to sell both lambs.
- All 4-H and FFA members in Missouri are eligible to show sheep in all classes except the Home Raised Market Lamb Class. Only Boone County exhibitors may show in this class. Home Raised definition can be found in the General Rules section.
- Only healthy animals will be admitted. Lambs may be checked by a state licensed veterinarian, he or she will have the authority to have any animal deemed a health risk and removed from the fairgrounds.
SHOWMANSHIP
Showmanship will be for Boone County exhibitors only. Showmanship will be judged at the discretion of the judge. The exhibitor winning showmanship in the market lamb class will not be eligible to compete in the breed show for showmanship.

Volunteer help is needed to successfully conduct this Shooting Sports Contest for our Boone County 4-H youth. Please contact Mike Holle to sign up to help with the contest. This Contest is only open to Boone County 4-H members enrolled in these Shooting Sports Project areas and who are currently in good standing with their 4-H Club.
The Early Registration Deadline for this Contest is Tuesday, June 17, 2008 and Entry Forms must be postmarked by this date and sent to the Boone County Extension Center.
The Late Fee for entries received from June 18 through Friday, June 27 will be $20 per event.
Entries after Friday, June 27, 2008 (including on-site entries) Will NOT Be Accepted.
All air rifles, air pistols, firearms and bows should be brought to the range in an appropriate case. Bring no ammo, it will be provided for you at the range.
Please bring eye and ear protection as required by your discipline. Archery participants must have six (6) matching arrows and a quiver.

STEER SHOW RULES
- Important: The rules listed in the General Rules section of the 2008 Boone County Fair Book, in addition to following rules, will apply to the Steer Show.
- Show Me Quality Assurance Certification will be required for showing any species of livestock at the 2008 Boone County Fair.
- All cattle should be doubled-tied in stall areas with halter and neck rope.
- Cattle will be released for tie-out at 8 p.m. Cattle must be tied in by 8 a.m. daily.
- Stall assignments will be posted in the Cattle Barn according to official Livestock Entry Forms sent to the Boone County Extension Center by Tuesday, June 17, 2008. There is a Late Entry Fee of $10 per head for Livestock Entry Forms received after Tuesday, June 17, 2008.
- Unmanageable cattle that cannot be shown in the ring will not be judged or receive
